Hello Everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!
I promised the ladies I would keep it short this month as they have included info about the kid’s Christmas party and our charity raffle for the December meeting, so they have saved you from my extended ramblings!
Art Amsler and Jack Belsterling held their annual Snowmobile Safety Class in Portersville November 10th, where 40 safe snowmobiliers graduated. Thank you Art and Jack for continuing on!
On November 3rd, we held our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner and clubhouse work weekend, which was well attended once again by our neighbor’s and club friends. The ladies filled our guests’ and hard working member’s belly’s after a hard day’s work of wood cutting, splitting and stacking in addition to more wiring being done, the ladies shower being tiled, and the usual upkeep and maintenance being done on the clubhouse. The kitchen passed it’s first big test with rave reviews and I think everyone went home with full bellies and big smiles. Tina Thomas raffled off some delicious pumpkin rolls and managed to raise $180 for charity, thank you Tina! I would think the clubhouse is looking good and ready for what will hopefully be a great riding season!
This past weekend we also had the annual Bear hunting at the clubhouse and 2 of our hunters went home with bear, in spite of less than ideal conditions. This makes about a dozen bears we have taken out of the clubhouse over the years. Congratulations Jeff and Crawdad! Scott Wilke is once again chairing our Annual Deer Hunt Camp. Hopefully we will carry over last weekends success and send some hunters home happy.
The club’s annual Charity Raffle will be at the next meeting on December 6th. Please bring a raffle item with a minimum value of $5, no max value or quantity if item’s. The ladies will then distribute the proceeds to needy families over Christmas. They will also accept food item’s at the meeting for distribution over Christmas, such as canned goods and boxed item’s. (mac & cheese, cereal, snacks, etc.) Please be generous as I know you will and we will carry on with another Snowseeker tradition and make some needy families Holiday special! Also, Breakfast with Santa will be December 8th. Please see the enclosed flyer for details!
Ginny is now accepting basket items for our April Spring Bash. We would also like Baskets that are already complete. Lottery trees are always a big draw. We would like everyone to bring a few scratch tickets to each meeting thru February. Cash is welcome and I can purchase tickets also. Sandy and Cathy Wright are going to help me sometime in January to get started making up the baskets with what everyone donated. Costume jewelry is also needed for this event. Last year we brought in $1500.00. If you need any other info give Ginny a call.
Tickets are available for the Snowseekers 3rd Annual Spring Bash Raffle, to be held at St. Ferdinand’s Church in Cranberry on Saturday, April 6th. Member’s needing more tickets are asked to contact Sandy Harris or Scott Wilke. Please return sold tickets stub’s and monies to Cathy Wright, 371 Nine Hill Rd., Harmony, PA. 16037. Please ask a Bash Committee person for your tickets to avoid mailing them and try and sell as many as possible, as this has become our major fundraiser for the year.
In closing, our club founder, Dale Klein, is recovering from hip replacement surgery. We need to get Dale on his feet and outta Ginny’s hair as she needs to get out and spend her proceeds from the last 2 meetings 50/50 raffles! Get well soon and best wishes Dale!
Please plan on attending and donating at the December 6th meeting at the Harmony Moose. See you there!! Mark & Sandy
