Hello Snowseeker’s,

Well, we got our Christmas wish, riding snow over the holiday’s and into the new year! Although it was short lived, a lot of you got to the clubhouse and enjoyed what had to have been our earliest and best riding snow in quite a few years. About a dozen member’s were there to ring in the new year. It’s the first I can remember riding on January 1st  in quite some time, and several got to follow it up the next weekend. Some even got to see the 6×6 bull elk that has been hanging out in Meade Run area, on the way to Westline. By the time you receive this, winter will be back with the coldest temps so far, so all we need is some winds over the open Lake Erie snow-maker and we’ll be back at it again. I can’t wait!

I also got my Presidents Christmas wish as Deb Amsler has volunteered tottend the DCNR Grant Workshop in Clarion February 27th, and will also be joined by Loretta. Thank you ladies, I’m sure we will come up with a project to apply for grant monies. If anyone else would like to attend, pre-registration is required through DCNR’s web-site, or let Deb & Loretta know.

Please don’t forget our 3rd Annual Spring Bash is fast approaching on April 6th, so sell, sell sell, those tickets! Ginny has started collecting scratch lottery tickets for the lottery tree’s, so please bring what you can to the next 3 meetings. Also, the Chinese Auction Committee is forming for this event and will also be collecting item’s at meetings for said auction. Please get involved and offer an Auction item!! Item’s needed are Black & Gold items for Steeler/Penguin baskets, bath products, poker table cover, new toy’s, money, gift items, coffee & tea, gift card’s, pasta products, and new pink bath towel set’s. Ginny Kline  she will let you know what else is needed, or call Scott& Sandy or Jim & Cathy Wright for more tickets or to see what you can help out with the day of the event. The Bash Committee can also reimburse you for the cost of an auction item after the event. Also, don’t forget to send your ticket receipts and monies to :  Cathy Wright, 371 Nine Hill Rd., Harmony, PA. 16037

There is an Amsoil Sno-Cross Race being held at the Allegheny Resort & Casino in Salamanca, N.Y. the weekend of February 22nd  through 24th –  tix are $25/day or $30/wknd. We can now ride there legally from our clubhouse through Allegheny State Park to the Casino…….Just sayin’, who wants to go?

As for trail issues, we have been asked to inform all members that Sackett Road, across from our clubhouse, is NOT a snowmobile road and is being watched for illegal use, so please take Trail #23 to Trail #1 for your rides. Sackett Rd., however, is open south of Owl’s Nest Rd. through Four Corner’s. (You have to take Trail #1 around Four Corner’s). Trail #14 south of Four Corner’s will be closed all winter, as is Pig’s Ear Rd., due to Marcellus drilling operations. If anyone is unfamiliar with these area’s or closures, please ask myself or a member to point you in the right direction. Also, Trail #1A is open from Westline to the NY line, with regular gas now available at The Willow’s, and was ridden by Sandy and I New Year’s day to Allegheny State Park in New York. The re-route that Tim and Jim helped out with is pretty nice and actually more scenic, so thanks again Guy’s!

In our busy riding season at your clubhouse, please take the time to leave the clubhouse as you found it. This includes doing your dishes, carrying in wood you use, taking care of your gas usage and paying your lodging. Of course, turning off all lights & water, thermostat’s to 60, and checking that all doors are secure, just like when you leave your own home for an extended time, should be a priority for every member…… Thank you!

In close, please be safe and courteous on the trails this winter! Stay to the right and help out a fellow snowmobiler with directions or whatever. We all represent our club while out there enjoying what we love to do, so be proud to be a Snowseeker! I know we are!

Mark & Sandy
