Even though it’s the middle of summer, the Snowseeker’s have been busy as usual!
Mike and Lauraine McHugh hosted July’s meeting at Walt’s Tavern at Conneaut Lake, PA., on July 13th. It was very well attended and had spectacular weather. No official business was conducted as per our by-laws. Jon Stahl is looking into getting our club logo on some trailer size decal’s for the upcoming winter, along with some smaller sized ones. Thank you Mike and Lauraine for hosting and cooking and to Walt’s Tavern for having us.
Last months annual Clarion River canoe trip was completed and well attended, with 16 canoes heading down river, with a small profit for the club. Thank you Derek, Erica, Rich and Loretta. Derek also proposed on this trip, which I hear Erica accepted! Congratulations!
The Board of Directors has approved proposed by-law changes pertaining to Associate Member’s who own sleds and for those who don’t, and also eliminating our work points system. This is your notice to review and vote on these by-law changes at Augusts’ meeting at Jim & Lori’s house on August 8th.
The club has decided to have a raffle featuring either a 2013 Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. quad or a 2014 Polaris Indy 550 snowmobile, which would be the winner’s choice. It will be $10 per ticket, and we should have tickets ready by the end of July. The sled or quad will be given away Christmas eve. Please see Mike McHugh for your tickets or if you would like to help.
A new Honda powered, self-propelled push mower has been purchased for the club house grounds. Please feel free to use it and take care of it if you do. There has also been a stainless sink with overhead rinse purchased to replace the Neanderthal unit over by the living room. It will need installed. Scott Thomas is looking to procure some new roll-up garage door’s and a replacement man door. The garage roof still need’s repaired (missing shingles), and there is talk of going with a metal roof when we do replace it. The up-stairs bathrooms will be started this fall. There is always plenty to do around the club-house, especially with winter right around the corner. Please see Scott Thomas if you would like to help or would like to head up a project.
The 8th Annual Thunder in the Forest Motorcycle poker run is this coming weekend, July 27. Michael and committee have been busy gathering donations and getting ready. The Shiner’s band will be playing at the Friday night party out back, and Deano will be grilling all day Saturday. Please procure some donations for door prizes or Chinese Auction if you can. The Boozemobile Raffle will also be Saturday night so please get your tickets turned in by then to Lij. We will be setting up all day Friday and will need lots of help. Please plan on attending if you can and bring some friends!
Your yearly due’s and garage storage fee’s are due now and will be late in September. Let’s all try and get paid up this year so the committee doesn’t have to ask. Thank you!
